We kicked it off in style. At an estimated 1500 feet above sea level, we found a very pleasant campsite. It was about 1/4 mile in from the gravel Johnstown Road campsite area parking lot. The site was located directly next to the Little Stony Creek. There are about 20 different sites to camp in. After treking all the gear, we tried our best to get as much wood as possible. |
There was a nice fire ring that had the battle scars of blazes before we got there. It contained non consumable items that had to be cleared out before any food could be prepared upon it. Please, keep your trash out of the fire rings (e.g., batteries, hot dog wrappers, all plastics. If you are going to put stuff in the fire, make sure it is all burned up before you leave so other people don't have to clean your mess. |
